Obituary of Elizabeth "Betty" Joan Prostredny

Ms. Elizabeth Joan Prostredny, 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 18, 2023 surrounded by her loving friends and family. A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 2:00 PM. A Rosary will be held at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home, Friday, November 24, 2023 at 6:00 PM, the family will greet friends following until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request that donation be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in loving memory of Ms. Prostredny.

Betty was born in McKees Rocks, PA to the late Andrew and Anna Kapko on February 8, 1933. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael John Prostredny and siblings: Andy Kapko, Mike Kapko, John Kapko, Irene Maslaney, and Mary Skowron.

Betty served her country as a Registered Nurse, working at multiple military and civilian hospitals. She devoted her time and took great care for each patient. She was also involved with the American Cancer Society, and was a part of the American Cancer Society Boois Member. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, and dear friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Betty is survived by her beloved son, Joseph Michael Prostredny; grandchildren: Katerina Prostredny, Michaela Prostredny, and Brandon Whitley, and a host of extended friends and family.
