Obituary of Dorothy Jean Stewart

Dorothy Jean Stewart, 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 28, 2023. A graveside service is scheduled for Tuesday, October 31, 11:00AMin the Perry Memorial Gardens. Sidney McLeod will officiate. A visitation for family and friends is scheduled for Monday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM in Heritage Memorial Funeral Home.

Dorothy was born October 8, 1942 in Yuba City, California to the late Leonard Menswell McVey and Gladys Charge McVey. She was a follower of Jesus Christ and worshipped him along with her brothers and sisters in Christ at the Upper Room Fellowship. Dorothy was a very talented woman and made all sorts of sculptures out of matchsticks. She had a knack for collecting everything representing gingerbread men and houses. Dorothy also loved to travel across the country to her home state of California. Dorothy was a very genuine, charismatic person who loved everyone. However, no one held her attention longer than her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy’s husband of 15 years, Jim Lee Stewart Sr.; children: Belva Wyrick and Jimmy Stewart; and her grandson, Kenrick Turner precede her in death.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Croska Williamson (Arvelia) of Florida, Edna Turner of Roberta, Vallerie Fussell (Greg) of Jasper, and Gino Williamson (Robin) of Elko; seventeen grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and brothers: Roger, Gary, and Leonard McVey.
