Obituary of Leonard "Lenny" D. Sletto

Mr. Leonard D. Sletto, 86 passed away peacefully on Friday, July 28th, 2023, at the Pine Pointe Hospice facility in Macon, GA. Graveside funeral services will be held at Andersonville National Cemetery, November 20, 2023 at 12 PM with full military honors. 

Lenny was born in Willow City, Bottineau, ND to the late Mr. Ole Sletto and Mrs. Mable McGarry. He was a retired veteran of the United States Air Force. He proudly served 20 years and retired from active-duty service at the rank of Technical Sergeant in 1974. Lenny went on serving the Air Force in a civilian capacity as an Electronic Technician at Robins Air Force Base until fully retiring. In his youth, Lenny was active in the Boy Scouts and very athletic. He was a high school state champion in track and field. Throughout his adult years, Lenny enjoyed spending time with his pets, camping, fishing, golfing, bowling, gardening, and piddling in the yard.

Lenny was preceded in death by his wife, Stellie A. Sletto; step-grandson Matthew Dean Little; brother, David Sletto; and sister, Blanch Biberdorf.

Survivors include his Companion Gail Padgett of Warner Robins, GA, his First Wife Nancy Hoar of Warner Robins, GA, Daughter Lynn (Jennifer) Sletto of Petaluma, CA, Son John Sletto of Warner Robins, GA, grandson, John C. Sletto of Warner Robins, GA; step-daughters: Betty A. Hassoun (Bill Godfrey) of Centerville, GA, Beverly (Jammie) Halley of Panama City, FL, Shirley Hemphill of Macon, GA; step-grandchildren: Ashley (Lyndsy) Little of Macon, GA, Victoria Hassoun of Richmond, VA, and Phillip (Pooja) Hassoun of Alpharetta, GA.
