Obituary of Robert B Cole

PERRY, GA-Robert B. “Bob” Cole, 96, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023. A Funeral Service is scheduled for Wednesday, June 14, 1:00PM in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in the Parkway Memorial Gardens, Warner Robins, Georgia. A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday Evening, June 13, from 6:00PM until 8:00PM. The Reverend Jason Dickerson will officiate.

Robert was born June 13, 1926 in Baxley, Georgia to the late Oliver and Sara Hamlin Cole. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. Robert retired from Civil Service as an Electronic Technician on Robins Air Force Base. He was a member of the Bonaire Church and Woodmen of the World. Robert was a former President of the Methodist Men and went on several Mission trips to Mexico. Along with his wife Mary, they were foster parents for 25 children over several years. Robert was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and he will be missed by everyone who knew him.

In addition to his parents, two brothers: Allen Cole and Homer Cole; and two sisters: Irene Kitchings and Mildred Conkle precede him in death.

Robert is survived by his wife, Mary Earline Cole of Bonaire; Son, Rev. Donald E. (Leslie) Cole of Cordele; daughter, Linda S. (Bobby) Carter of Bonaire; brother, James M. Cole of Villa Rica; two grandchildren: Doug Cole of Cordele and Ben Carter of Bonaire; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bonaire Church Chapel Fund.
