Obituary of Nell Yopp Westmoreland

Warner Robins, GA: Nell Yopp Westmoreland passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 14th, at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Jimmy Asbell, Jr. & Rev. Missy Blumenthal officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Westmoreland was the widow of Erwin Frank Westmoreland and the daughter of the late Margaret Stokes Yopp and John Coates Yopp. She was employed at RAFB for 33 years starting in 1951. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church since 1952, where she served on the Administrative Committee, Worship Committee and the Bereavement Committee. She was a member of the Wesley Fellowship Sunday School Class. Nell was also a charter lifetime member of the Women of the Moose Charter 1353 where she held the highest degree, College of Regentâ??s and a charter member of the Warner Robins Moose Boat Club. Also a member of the Auxiliary LeFemme Cabane 1145 of the Fourty-8 Society. Survivors include her son, Robert â??Bobbyâ?쳌 Coates Westmoreland Cindy of Warner Robins and daughter, Debbie Westmoreland White Ray of Orange Park, FL. She was blessed with three beautiful and loving granddaughters, Ms. Amanda â??Mandyâ?쳌 Carol Westmoreland of Warner Robins, GA, Mrs. Jamie Westmoreland Bland Jeremy of Hawkinsville, GA and Dr. Heather White Brandy Louis of Pittsburg, PA. A dear sister, Mrs. Doris Yopp Smith of Quitman, GA and two nieces and 1 nephew. Mrs. Peggy Smith Kaplan Daryl Middleburg, FL, Mrs. Joellen Halsall Heimbach Joe of Phoenix, AZ and Mr. Ted Erler Halsall Melinda of Showlow, AZ. The love of her life was her precious great grandsons, Trevor Stinson Bland and Walker Robert Erwin Bland of Hawkinsville, GA and Andrew Coates Westmoreland of Warner Robins, GA. She was preceded in death by her four sisters, Mrs. Virginia Yopp Griner, Mrs. Lucia Yopp Halsall, Mrs. Mae Yopp Griffin and Miss Freddie Carol Yopp. The pallbearers will be Butch Moore, Wayne Kohler, Alton Knight, Walter Cartategui, Eldee Wilson and Geoff Lee. The family may be contacted at 305 Draper Street, the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Bobby Westmoreland. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
