Obituary of Joe Tandy Johnson

Warner Robins, GA; Mr. Joe Johnson, 93, passed away and entered into eternal rest Monday, March 2, 2009 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church Centerville at 3:00 PM Thursday, March 5, 2009 with interment at Centerville City Cemetery with full Navy honors. Visitation will be from 7 PM until 9 PM on Wednesday, March 4, 2009. Mr. Johnson was born in Guthrie, Kentucky on March 6, 1915 to the late Mr. Edward Tandy Edna Mae Poole Johnson. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Seay Johnson. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy after serving twenty-two years and he was a retired civil service employee from Robins Air Force Base, also he was an avid gardener. He is survived by his Son, Robert Karol Johnson, Macon, GA; Grand-daughter Hannah Dustin Johnson Faulkner, Milledgeville, GA; Grandsons Aaron Johnson and Alex Johnson both of Macon, GA; one Great Grand-daughter Payton Grace Faulkner, Milledgeville, GA; two nieces Ruth Barrow, Louisville, Kentucky and Lucy Marshall, Guthrie, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Centerville, 108 E. Church St. Centerville, GA 31028. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory are in charge of arrangements.
