Obituary of Raymond W. Smith

Warner Robins: Raymond W. Smith, 89, passed away on Wednesday December 3, 2008. Funeral services willl be held at 11 AM Saturday at Shirley HillsBaptist Church. Rev. Andy Cook will officiate. Burial will be held at 3 PM Sunday at the Laurel Wood Cemetery in Rock Hill, SC. Mr. Smith was born in Rock Hill, SC to the late Charles E. And Augie Barbre Smith. He was a graduate of Rock Hill High School. He completed The Civilian Pilot Training Program and received his private pilot’s license. He also served in the Army Air Corps during WWII as a B-17 pilot and remained in the Reserves until retiring at the rank of Captain. He later entered Civil Service and retired in 1980. Survivors include his wife of 54 years Pauline A. Smith of Warner Robins. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home.
