Obituary of Margaret Anne Cooper

Warner Robins, GA: Margaret Anne Doughtie Cooper, 75, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2008, at Heartland Hospice House in Macon. Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday in the All Saints Episcopal Church in Warner Robins, GA with burial in Parkway Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Cooper was born in Columbus, GA. She was the daughter of the late Eugene Britt Doughtie, Sr. and Beryl Prioleau Chisolm Doughtie. She was also preceded in death by a son, James Wesley Cooper, brothers, Dr. Eugene Britt Doughtie, Jr., Rutledge Chisolm Doughtie, sister, Carolyn Elizabeth Doughtie, uncle, Col. George Martimer Couper and an aunt, Margaret Adela Chisolm Couper of Clearwater, FL. Before moving to Warner Robins, Mrs. Cooper lived in Florida, where she was a Girl Scout Leader and a certified high school math and english teacher. She was the current President of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. After retiring from Robins Air Force Base, she was an Avon Representative earning the Presidents Club and Mrs. Albee awards for 15 years. She was a member of Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church and sang in the church choir. Survivors include her husband, James Kenneth Cooper of Warner Robins, daughters, Deborah Wilson Jim of Warne, NC and Peggy Cooper Dale of Centerville, grandchildren, Caitlyn Lacey Dale and Graham Cooper Dale, brother, George Malone Doughtie of Titusville, FL, sister, Beryl Chisolm Doughtie Williamson Robert Loy of Prattville, AL, sister-in-laws, Susan Doughtie of Horseshoe Bend, TX and Sheila Doughtie of Mobile, AL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heartland Hospice House @ 115 Arkwright Rd., Macon, GA, 31210 or to the American Cancer Society @ P.O.
