Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home with interment in Parkway Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Reverend David Miller will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday, July 11, 2008 from 7 â?? 9 P.M. at the funeral home. Born in Blanchard, Oklahoma, he was the son of the late John Walter Thompson and Bertha C. Buckholts. Mr. Thompson a 27 year, highly decorated veteran of the Air Force, serving in the Korean War and the Viet-Nam conflict. He retired to Warner Robins, GA in 1978. He also worked with ZANTOP in Macon for many years. Survivors include his wife Carol W. Thompson, Centerville, GA; Daughter, Christine Matt Johnson, Columbia, SC; Son Scott Beth Thompson, Fort Worth, Texas; Brother, Clyde Sandra Copley, Lone Grove, Oklahoma; Grandchildren; Christopher Blymyer and Jacob Johnson, Columbia, South Carolina; Erin Thompson, North Carolina and Katie Thompson, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory has charge of arrangements.
