Obituary of George P. Antonio

Warner Robins, GA: George P. â??Tonyâ?쳌 Antonio, 90 , passed away Monday, June 2, 2008, at his residence. Services will held at 3:00 PM Wednesday in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home with burial in Parkway Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until service time at 3:00 PM. Mr. Antonio was born in Chicago, IL to the late Charles Antonio and Jeanne Marie Rastello Antonio. He grew up in Barnesville and Forsyth. He graduated from Gordon Military College in 1936. He served in the Army in W.W.II and the Air Force in Korea. Following his retirement from the Air Force in 1967, he and his family decided to stay in Warner Robins where he retired from Robins Air Force Base. Mr. Antonio was active in square dancing and round dancing and the Warner Robins Lions Club. He did volunteer work for the American Red Cross, the Heart of Georgia Hospice and the Base Retirees Volunteer program. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Harriette S. Antonio of Warner Robins, sons, Phillip Antonio of Warner Robins and Jack Antonio of Reno, NV. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart of Georgia Hospice @ 103 Westridge Dr., Warner Robins, GA, 31088 or to the American Cancer Society @ P.O. Box 4406, Macon, GA, 31208, in memory of Mr. Antonio. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
