Obituary of George Kushinka

Warner Robins: George Kushinka, 78, passed away on Tuesday December 4, 2007. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Parkway Memorial Gardens. Father Fred Nijem will officiate. Mr. Kushinka was born in Bethlehem, PA to the late Charles & Mary Wargo Kushinka. He served as a Lieutenant in the US Army. He attended Rutgers University where he played football and later graduated from Mercer University and the Walter F. George School of Law. He was a partner in the law firm of Kushinka, Calhoun & Godwin and was the former attorney for the city of Warner Robins. He was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the American Bar Association, Georgia Bar Association, and was a past president of the Houston County Bar Association where he received the Professionalism Award. He was also a member and Paul Harris Fellow with the Warner Robins Rotary Club. Other memberships include: Life Member of the AFA, Houston County Shield Association, Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, Moose Club, Elks Club, Warner Robins Area Chamber of Commerce, Military Affairs Committee and WRING. His siblings Ann Kostick, Barbara Williamson, Mary Ward, John Kushinka, Michael Kushinka and Charles Kushinka all preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife Delores Della Donna Kushinka of Warner Robins. Children: Michael Kushinka of Decatur, Mark Julie Kushinka of Bonaire and Donna Dave Mihal of Woodstock. Grandchildren: Brittany & Alex Hankins. Marc, Kelli, Jordan & Kaleb Kushinka. Several nieces and nephews. While flowers will be accepted, memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund, 250 S. Davis Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088. M. D. A Scripture Service will be said at 6 PM Thursday in the Chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home followed by a time of visitation until 8 PM.
