Obituary of Edward E. Redmond

Warner Robins, GA: Edward E. Redmond, 77, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2007 at his residence. Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home with burial in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 PM Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Redmond was born in Fulton County, GA. He was the son of the late George Edward Redmond, Jr. and Lilla Moore Redmond. Mr. Redmond was retired from Robins Air Force Base as an Assistance Branch Chief in the Production Branch, Department of Maintenance. While at Robins AFB, Mr. Redmond was awarded the Meritous Civilian Service Award. He was a charter member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and a former Sunday School Superintendent. He was involved in little league baseball program in Warner Robins for many years and was the former President of the Warner Robins Baseball Association. Mr. Redmond was a mason at the Grand Lodge of Georgia in Arlington, Georgia for over 50 years. Survivors include his wife, Joyce T. Redmond of Warner Robins, daughter, Renee’ Redmond Steve Strawn of Warner Robins, son, Robert Edward Patty Redmond of Marietta, two sisters, Grace R. Dupree & Lurene R. Charlie Jackson both of Jacksonville, FL, four grandchildren, Margaret Katherine Brandon Orr of Marietta, Lindsey Justin Jackson of Buford, GA, Derek Stephen Amber Strawn of Warner Robins, Gilbert Hunter Strawn of Savannah and six great grandchildren. Flowers are accepted or contributions may be made to the Heart of Georgia Hospice at 103 Westridge Dr., Warner Robins, GA, 31088, in memory of Mr. Redmond. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
