Obituary of James Hugh Maddox

Kathleen, GA: James Hugh Maddox, 67, passed away Monday, April 16, 2007 at his residence. Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday at the Crossroads United Methodist Church in Perry, GA with interment in Jackson, GA at the Cedar Rock Cemetery at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be from 7 until 9 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. The Reverends George Durham and Virgil Allen will officiate. Mr. Maddox was a graduate of Hapeville High School. He graduated from Georgia Tech as an Electrical Engineer in 1962. He was a veteran serving as a Captain in the US Army Signal Corp. His Civil Service career began with NASA, Langley AFB, VA, followed by Base Civil Engineering and Air Force Reserves at Robins AFB, GA; retiring in 1996 from the Air National Guard Headquarters, Washington, DC. He was the son of the late James Lawrence Maddox.. He was a member of Perry United Methodist Church where he served faithfully as Sound manager and Trustee. He was also a member of the American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Jane Maddox of Kathleen, daughter Cynthia Rozier of Collins, sons Trent Maddox of Warner Robins, William Maddox of Sulfolk, VA, James Maddox of Kathleen, mother Sara Reeves Maddox of Jackson, GA, stepson, William Faircloth of Columbia, SC, grandchildren Treasure Rozier, Raven and Thomas Maddox, Jimmy Maddox, step grandchildren Jacklyn Durham, Cory Nixon, Ryan, Logan and Emily Faircloth, Brandy Ferrell, Cory and Megan Pegen, step great grandchildren, Cameron Bowman and Lacy Ferrell, sister Janice M. Braley of Big Canoe, Jasper, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart of Georgia Hospice, Inc., 103 Westridge Dr., Warner Robins, GA, 31088 or to Crossroads UMC Building Fund at 1600 Main Street, Perry, GA, 31069. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
