Obituary of Rolland P. Simons

Byron, GA: Rolland P. ?Mr. Rolly? Simons, 71, passed away Friday, February 2, 2007 at his home surrounded by loved ones. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A rosary will be said Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home with visitation following until 9 :00 PM. Rolly was born in Stewart, MN, to the late Paul and Marcella Nieberle Simons. Rolly was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and one of his greatest joys was to meet the gang at the Waffle House and solve all the world’s problems over a cup or two of coffee. He was accomplished carpenter and builder who was acknowledged as the unofficial Mayor of Bradford Estates Mobile Home Community. He never met a stranger and would do anything to help a friend in need. He is survived by his two sons Ron Amy Simons of Bonaire, David Katherine Simons of Wrightwood, CA, and his daughter Cathy Warnar of Byron, brother Kenneth Simons of Apple Valley, CA, grandchildren Jessica Simons, Sara Simons, Lisa Peacock, Daniel Simons, Amanda Simons, Mitchell Simons, Ronnie Simons, Brenden Simons, Christian Warnar, Samuel Warnar, John Haymaker, Nick Haymaker, Whitney Haymaker, great grandson Austin Marshall. Contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund at 250 South Davis Dr., Warner Robins, GA, 31088 in memory of Mr. Simons. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
