Obituary of James Earl Elliott

Warner Robins: James Earl Elliott, 76, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2007. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Central Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Rev. Sydney Odom and Dr. H. Owen Bozeman will officiate. Mr. Elliott was born in Atkinson County to the late Dan and Mamie Elliott. After attending Brewton Parker College and Georgia Southern College, he graduated from the LSU School of Banking. Mr. Elliott enjoyed an extensive financial career as President of Citizens State Bank, First Atlanta Bank and Wachovia Bank of Warner Robins. He was a member of the Warner Robins Chamber of Commerce where he was a Past President and the Chamber Person of the Year. He was also active in the Warner Robins Jaycees, Civitan Club, Rotary, United Way, Salvation Army, Happy Hour School and served as President of the Warner Robins High School Touchdown Club. He was an avid golfer and enthusiastic supporter of his beloved Warner Robins High School Demons, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Atlanta Braves. His sisters, Grace Carter and Carolyn Elliott, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Yvonne C. Elliott. Sons: Jim Michelle Elliott and Danny Gretchen Elliott, all of Warner Robins. Brother: Kermit Norma Elliott of Ocilla. Grandsons: Jay and Mark Elliott. Several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088 or the donor’s favorite charity.
