Obituary of Jonathan Christopher Taunton

Kathleen, GA: Jonathan Christopher Taunton, 18, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, August 18, 2005, in Macon, GA. Services will be at 3:00 PM Sunday at Second Baptist Church with burial in Parkway Memorial Gardens. The body will placed in the church at 4:00PM Saturday afternoon for viewing, with family visitation from 6 until 8 PM. An additional praise service will be held at Second Baptist Church at 6:30 PM Sunday evening followed by a celebration of his life in the church family life center for all youth who may want to attend. Jonathan was born in Houston County and has lived here all of his life. He was a very active member of Second Baptist Church where he was involved in many activities such as the drummer for the Praise Band Six Piece Suit, member of the young mens eleventh grade Sunday School Class, the high school Area Bible Study Group, the puppet ministry and children’s ministry. He was involved in the church Upward Basketball program and he played on several of the church’s softball and volleyball teams. Jonathan also played and worshipped with the praise and worship group from Crosspoint Baptist Church on different occasions. He was an eleventh grader at Houston County High School where he was a member of FCA, the Prayer Club, Cross Country Running Team. Jonathan was awarded the runner of the Year in 2004 for all of Houston County. Survivors include his parents, Valeria & Russell Taunton of Kathleen, sister Ashleigh Taunton of Kathleen, two brothers Matthew and Kaleb Taunton both of Alabama, Mat Grandparents Charles & Carolyn Kirby, Sr. of Warner Robins, Pat Grandfather Wallace Taunton of Montgomery, AL, four aunts, two uncles and seventeen cousins. Contributions may be made to the Second Baptist Youth Scholarship Fund at 2405 Moody Rd., Warner Robins, GA 31088. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
