Obituary of Effie Addison

Centerville, GA: Effie Hendrix Addison, 92, crossed over on Saturday, June 25, 2005 in her home after an extended illness. Services will be on Tuesday, June 28 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home with burial in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 until 9 PM Monday evening at the funeral home. Chaplain Steve Womack will officiate Effie was the wife of the late Theo Van Buren Addison. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Fannie Hendrix, brothers James and Jack Hendrix all of Clyatville, GA, son Thomas Leon Phillips and daughter-in-law Barbara R. Phillips both of Kennesaw, GA. Ms. Addison was employed by Robins Air Force Base for 39 years as a foreign military sales program manager. She was a member of The Business and Professional Womens Club, NARFE, AARP, Toastmistress Club and the Senior Citizen Club. The greatest gift she ever gave was being a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and her 3 most most devoted caregivers, Andrea, Trina and Carla. Survivors include her daughter Linda C. Smith Jimmy of Centerville, stepchildren Floyd Addison of MI, Joyce Groh of FL and Nina Hiler of NJ, granddaughters Terry A. Fountain of Warner Robins, Tammie A. Sudduth Gurry of Caledonia, MS, Rhonda M. Dozier Albert of Warner Robins, Brandi N. Smith of Kansas City, Kansas, grandsons Trey Smith of Warner Robins, Chad Smith of Macon, great grandchildren, Brad M. Connell and Lauren M. Cunrod both of Warner Robins, Brittany L. Provencher Michael of Minnot, ND, Amanda Lynn Armstrong of Caledonia,MS, Haleigh and Avery Dozier of Warner Robins, Keeley and Austin Smith of Warner Robins, sister Lois Moye of Tampa, FL, brothers Jerry Hendrix Tommie of Wilmington, NC and Bill Hendrix Billie of Lake Park, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Central GA.
