Obituary of Benjamin R. Harris

Warner Robins, GA: Benjamin R. Harris, 85, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2008. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 3rd , in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 7 until 9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Additional services will be at 3:00 PM Thursday in the First Christian Church in Wrightsville, GA. Burial will be in the Westview Cemetery in Wrightsville. Mr. Harris was born in Johnson County, GA. He was the son of the late Dr. Thomas L. Harris and Leila Lawrence Harris. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris Hodges Harris. He was retired from the United States Marines and from Robins Air Force Base. Mr. Harris was a member of the First Christian Church in Wrightsville, GA. Survivors include his stepson, Allen Cullens of Cross Hill, SC, sister, Mamie Lou Scarborough of Oxford, GA, brother, Thomas Lamar Harris, Jr, of Sandersville, six grandchildren and one great grandchild. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Society at 3312 Northside Dr., Suite 140-A Macon, GA, 31203 or to the donors choice. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
