Obituary of Abdullah Ar-Rahim Ar-Rahman “Larry” Thompson

Bonaire, Georgia – Abdullah Ar-Rahim Ar-Rahman "Larry" Thompson, 66, passed away peacefully with his beloved family at his bedside at Pine Point Hospice. A Funeral Service honoring the life of Larry will be held on Thursday at 2:00PM at The Islam Center of Middle of Georgia. Immediately following the services, Abdullah Ar-Rahim Ar-Rahman aka Larry will be laid to rest at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Warner Robins, Georgia.

Larry was born on December 25, 1955 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late Hattie Thompson and Kelly Thomas. Abdullah Ar-Rahim Ar-Rahman aka Larry was a very easing going individual who found the humor in almost every situation. He was often described by his family and friends with a huge heart who would lend a hand to someone in their time of need.

Abdullah Ar-Rahim Ar-Rahman aka Larry possessed a passion for cooking and he even did so as a chef at Papa’s Nook in Spartanburg. When he was not cooking for his fellow patrons, he could be found in the kitchen cooking for those he loved and cared for. Abdullah Ar-Rahim Ar-Rahman aka Larry was known for cooking his “world famous” potato salad which people would rave over along with his other dishes.  When Abdullah Ar-Rahim Ar-Rahman aka Larry was not cooking, he could be found making leather creations for all to enjoy. He even enjoyed crochet where he had made countless beautiful creations. Abdullah Ar-Rahim Ar-Rahman aka Larry truly appreciated the arts and he invested his time to understand and learn how to create the art himself. 

While Larry loved arts nothing will compare to the love, he had possessed for his beloved family. Larry was very family oriented and understood the importance of family heritage. During Abdullah Ar-Rahim Ar-Rahman aka Larry’s 66 years he had taught his family so many lessons including; determination, will power, love, and integrity. He always had a smile upon his face through the good times as well as the bad. Abdullah Ar-Rahim Ar-Rahman aka Larry was a strong man who never stopped fighting and had a determination about himself like no other.

In addition to his parents, Abdullah Ar-Rahim Ar-Rahman aka Larry is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Tameka Brown; Siblings: Tony Thomas, Peggy Thomas, Jerry Thompson, and Rena Henry.

Left to cherish the countless lessons is his beloved children: Larry Brown (Teninka), Ne’miah Miller (Cornelius Booker); Grandchildren: Larry Brown, II , Lori Brown, and two more on the way; Siblings: Nancy Terrell, Barbara Thompson, Michael Thomas (Gwendolyn) , Tyrone Thompson (Brenda), Sheina Thomas, Tammy Bird and  Kelly Thompson (Kisha). Abdullah Ar-Rahim Ar-Rahman aka Larry is also survived by a host of many extended family members and countless friends.
