Obituary of Docia Elizabeth Hester

Docia Elizabeth Hester, 93, went home to be with her personal Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. A Funeral Service honoring the life of Docia will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 2:00PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. A Visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Immediately following the services Docia will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Charlie Hester at Magnolia Park Cemetery. Pastor Tim Millwood will be officiating the services. 

Docia was born on July 29, 1928 in Dublin, Georgia to the late Pauline Graham and Alfred Hester. Docia was a very loving lady who served the lord her God with all of her soul, mind, and strength. She was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church where she was also attended the "Joy" Sunday school class. 

Docia was a hard working lady who lived through the great depression and taught her family the importance of a dollar as well as an individuals integrity. When she was not working hard she could be found on a  body of water with a fishing pole in her hand casted awaiting a fish to bite. Docia was a fanatic for catfish and loved cooking or simply going to Snellgroves to eat the catfish tails. 

Docia also loved to travel to the beach and watch the waves out in the distance admiring the lords beautiful creation. When she was not traveling to the beach she could be found in the mountain tops admiring the leaves changing colors. 

In addition to her parents, there awaiting for Docia at the gates of heaven is her beloved husband, Charlie Tilman Hester as well as her 9 siblings. 

Left to cherish her memory is her beloved children, Glenda Benge, Janice Guinn (Paul), Kay Webb, Fay Rodriquez (Jose); 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren. Docia is also survived by a host of extended family members and countless friends. 

In lieu of flowers the family respectfulyl asks that donatinos be made to the Friendship Baptist Church Building Fund, 1322 Feagin Mill Rd, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
