Maggie was born on January 27, 1935 to the late John Jack Mason and Doris Hutto Mason. Maggie was a very loving and generous woman who loved sharing a smile and reminiscing on the “old times” with those, she adored. She loved the beauty of the outdoors and the peace it brought within her. She could often times be found in her yard gardening adding flowers to the Lord’s beautiful creation. When Maggie was not gardening she could often times be found on a body of water with a fishing pole casted awaiting for a prize catch to bite on the end of the line. Maggie also enjoyed having fun and testing her luck just as much as the next person and she did this by playing some slot machines in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Maggie was also a very hard worker who dedicated years of service as a civilian secretary at Robins Air Force Base. Upon her retirement, she enjoyed sitting back and relaxing while wearing that famous smile of hers.

In addition to her parents Maggie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack G. Byrd; Brother’s: Willie Frank Mason, and Eugene Lamar Mason.

Left to cherish her beautiful spirit are her beloved Children: Elaine Gunter Woodall (Chip); Rome; Michelle Lee Lubinski (Mike); Savannah; James Randall Gunter; Centerville; Grandchildren: Jamee Tru Staud (Kory), Jacob Whatley Woodall, Mandi Kay Tate (Randy), Madison Marie Gunter, Alyssa Nicole Gunter; Great-grandchild, Maverick Joseph Staud; Sister, Jackie Mason Beard; Nieces: Teresa Mason Gore, Karen Mason Smith, Sharon Clayton; Nephew: Kevin Mason, Maggie is also survived by her beloved dog and companion, “Hailey” as well as many extended family members and countless friends.
