I have so many childhood memories of your family, playing til dark under the street light in front of your house.
One memory of Joe that still comes to mind, is when I smell the paper mill, Joe would always say " it smells like money to me".
praying for your family. Love Cymp

Larue and family, so sorry to hear that Uncle Joe has passed but I’m confident be he is with our Lord and we’ll see him again. Wanted to share a memory; Joe & Larue came to my father’s funeral in Jacksonville and slept in my parents room. I came home late and went to their bedroom, thinking it was my mom, grabbed a foot and shook it and Joe sat straight up. We had a good laugh the next morning! Love and sympathy to you all.

Grandaddy, you and Granny are the examples of love. You always came in the house after work with a kiss and left the house with a kiss! I spent many a weekend spending the night and watching the good ol shows or some Braves , played in the back yard and dressed upon granny’s old gowns. Caught frogs ran from crazy chickens, made a many mud pie out in the front yard. Many will never know the love that y’all had for almost 65 years and there is good bad and ugly but you stick it out!!! We gone get through this just like we do everything! We love u and will miss you but God will get us through and his glory be done! This is not goodbye but see you later!
Your red headed girl Bess

To my Macon family, all of my childhood memories of being with Uncle Joe and Aunt Larue are of a big family full of life and love. My brother is very much like Joe in many ways, especially aggravating and picking at me with a big smile on his face. It was always fun when our families were together. I love and miss you all and pray for the peace and comfort that only God can give. With much love, Lynn Morris Milstead

Daddy you were the best! It will not be the same here without you but you are in my heart and my memories. I know you are healed and celebrating with Jesus. We will look after mama until you meet her at the pearly gates with that big smile on your face. I will always love you and I will see you again one day! Fay
