Obituary of Bert Louise Taunton

Warner Robins, GA - Bert Louise Taunton, age 95, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022. A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, January 12th, 2022 at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 2:00 PM with Reverend Jeff Cook officiating. A graveside service will immediately follow at Parkway Memorial Gardens.  The friends can greet the family Wednesday between 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. If you can not make it to the service, you are welcome to watch it live on Heritage Memorial Funeral Home's Facebook page under events. 

Bert was born in Mobile, Alabama  to the late Thomas Vernon Raines and Mamie Louise Dumas. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Willie Frank Taunton (2010). Bert graduated early from High School in Alabama, and then she went to Auburn University where she met the love of her life, Frank Taunton. Bert and Frank were married for 62 years.  She and Frank moved to Warner Robins, Georgia in 1965. While in Warner Robins, Bert and Frank became members of Trinity United Methodist Church. She worked as the church secretary for 5 years in the 1970's, and was also a member of the Joyful Noise Choir at Trinity United Methodist Church. Bert was an adventurous woman who enjoyed singing, reading, swimming, and being outdoors. Most importantly, Bert enjoyed spending time with her beloved family and friends. 

Survivors include daughters: Linda (Bob) Hopkins, Jane (Dave) Kibler, and Joel Godfrey ;  grandchildren: Ryan (Alyssa) Godfrey, Jeremy (Jen) Godfrey, Andrea (Eric) Salvador, Drew (Mary Ann) Hopkins, Stephen (Morgan) Hopkins, and Scott (Amanda) Kibler; great grandchildren: Caleb, Lily, Tristan, Violet, Elodie, Wesley, and Aiden, and a host of extended friends and family.
