Earl Evans was a generous, loyal man who loved his kids and grandchildren fiercely. I find beauty in my time with him every single day. It's because of him I'm now generous, loving, and loyal as well. Thank you Dad for everything you did for us. I love you forever.

Earl was the sweetest, most positive, & always smiling man I’ve ever met, I’m glad he crossed my path. I met Earl when I joined the base chapel gospel choir. He made me a shadow box when I retired and he brought me a Heath blizzard when I was stuck in lodging. My condolences to his family, I will miss my friend greatly but I know he is in a much better place where he has no more pain.

The staff and volunteers at Christian Social Ministry Food Bank mourn the loss of a dear brother. We take comfort in the fact that he is at eternal peace with Jesus Christ now. We pray that all his family will be comforted by God and at peace, knowing he is resting in the arms of Jesus for all eternity.

I'm blessed to say I have such nice memories of time spent with Earl and his family over the years. When we visited in Warner Robins, I recall big breakfasts, fun in the backyard pool with the kids, grilling out, and shopping. There were pecan trees in Earl's backyard, and his Dad Ed loved pecans. We'd always take a couple of big bags home with us, and each year Earl would graciously mail a big box of fresh pecans to his Dad. Ed really appreciated those pecans! When he came to Chicago, he enjoyed going to Navy Pier where we'd all walk out to the end of the pier and enjoy the waves of Lake Michigan and the scenic view of downtown Chicago with a drink and some music. He had never been to a college football game, so about 4 years ago we went to a University of Wisconsin Badger football game (my alma mater). It would have been more enjoyable had the weather cooperated. It was windy, rainy and even snowed. Ugh. Wish we would have had the opportunity to go again. Earl would reminisce about his service years in Germany, and especially his enjoyment of German beer and pubs. A few years ago he visited and he and I went to a German Restaurant during OctoberFest. He drank two of those "boots" of beer, ate a German meal and listened to live German music. He so enjoyed that. In July 2019, he came to Chicago to attend my surprise birthday party. It was so nice of him to come, and we were all happy to see him and visit with him during the weekend. Unfortunately, that is when he told us that he was about to begin chemotherapy for his newly diagnosed colon cancer. He put himself in God's hands to lead him through his cancer journey and we all know with God's lead and the exceptional care and love provided by his wonderful daughter Sian, sister Lisa, former wife Mary, and granddaughter Stacey, he was successful in beating that cancer almost to the end. I will miss Earl, but know he is healthy and happy now with God and those family and friends who have passed before him. I'm blessed to have had my live enriched by him. He was a giving man, and a man of integrity who cared deeply for his family. He will be with me in spirit always. Love you Earl, PamEvans

Evans family,
we are so sorry for your loss of Earl. The picture you used is the always smiling, kind Earl we've come to know and love. The fun times we had living in Germany and after we all returned.

My heart hurts. Earl was much more than a co-worker to me. He was a brother, a mentor, and a roll model. None of us are perfect but he was genuine and believed what he believed. I will miss him greatly but, I will celebrate his life and his memory with a smile. I will be praying for the immediate family and our Campus Police family. BUT GOD.
