Ginger Rountree

Obituary of Ginger Elaine Rountree

Ginger Rountree, 69, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at her home in Hawkinsville with her beloved family and friends surrounding her.

Ginger was born on December 12, 1951 in Wadley, Alabama to the late Doris Faye French Taylor and Robert Vinson Taylor.

Ginger was a woman of many talents. She loved to sing and craft. In years past she was an avid gardener and loved to see things grow. She was a woman who once her mind was made up there was no stopping her.

She would share anything she had with a person in need. Her greatest unfulfilled dream was to open a Soup Kitchen for the homeless and needy.

Ginger spent the last 40 years with the love of her life, Steven Glenn Rountree. He was her rock and she was his. Together they were as one and a true example of what love is. Care and forgiveness knew no boundaries with them.

Her memory will forever be cherished by her loving husband, Steven Glenn Rountree, Sr.  Children: Stacy Lyn Taylor, India Griffin (Gerold), Gretchin Hayes (Garfield) and Steven Glenn Rountree, Jr. (Mandy). Grandchildren: Christopher Dennis, Harley Atkinson, Jesse Dennis (Zach), Steven Atkinson (Katherine),  Cheyenne Rountree, Jordan Rountree, Alexys Varnado and Remington Rountree. Great Grandchildren: Kariena and Danielle Griffin. Siblings: Winston Taylor, Betty Lacy, Timothy Taylor and Robert Taylor. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as a host of cousins.

A private memorial service will be held for family in her hometown of Wadley, Alabama.
