Obituary of Maxine Jones

Maxine was born on October 7, 1943 to the
parentage of Mack and Bertha Mae Russell in Itta
Bena Mississippi. The family relocated to Chicago
Illinois and she graduated from St. Martins High
School. She later met and married George Jones,
Sr. To this union two sons were born: George W.
Jones,Jr and Gregory Van Jones.
George Sr was a military man so the family
accompanied him to a variety of Army
installations including England, Landstuhl
Germany, Kaiserslautern, Germany, Fort
Leavenworth Kansas and finally Fort Sheridan
Illinois. They later relocated to Chicago, Illinois
to start a new journey after military life.
Maxine earned an Associates Degree from Oliver
Harvey College in Harvey,Il. Putting her degree to
use, she worked in management for a number of
companies including Spiegel Direct Marketing and
Catalog Co, Maxine’s Boutique, Lackland AFB
and Sears.
Maxine and George Sr. were married until the
Lord called him home on August 4, 1996;
representing over 30 years of marriage. After
which, Maxine relocated to Texas to be near her
sons. Being the friendly person that she was,
Maxine made friends in each Texas location in
which she lived, including San Antonio, Plano,
Frisco and DeSoto. Maxine was a woman of many
talents. She loved sewing and doing crafts. She
also loved worshipping her Savior with her gifted
voice and she absolutely loved her grandchildren.
As her health continued to decline, Maxine
relocated to Kathleen, Georgia to reside with her
son George and family. She departed this life the
morning of August 5, 2020. She leaves to cherish
her memories: Sons; George W. Jones, Jr
(Deborah) and Gregory Van Jones; brothers
Joseph Seals, Jr ,Rev. Billy (Rochelle) Seals, and
Ronald Seals; Grandchildren: Gregory Van Jones,
Jr, Lia Michelle Jones and Madisyn Nicole Jones.
