I'm so sorry I was not able to be at the service for Ronnie as I was out of town. He was such a special person and loved by so many people. He always seemed to be able to smile no matter when I saw him. I am glad to have known such a fine man who loved his family. I will continue to pray for Lynda and the family in the days and weeks to come. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Rest in peace, Ronnie.
With sympathy,
Debbie Gamber

I can’t think about Ronnie without seeing, in my mind’s eye, Sista & Uncle Donald, and Craig. When I was born, Ronnie was about 9 years old so by the time I was old enough to remember Ronnie he was a teenager. What I remember most during that time was how Ronnie helped Granddaddy on the farm, especially on the tractor. Then there were the stories told on the front porch of Grandmama and Granddaddy’s house. I listened to the one about when Ronnie was a very little boy, came in crying, and pointing to his ankle. As the story goes, Sista was talking and thought Ronnie had been bitten by fire ants. She held his little ankle tightly with her fingers and blew on the area. When she looked down, she saw the two fang marks and it was off to the hospital. The other amazing story was the time Ronnie decided to cool off in a pond not far from the house. He grabbed his inner-tube and took off. Luckily for him, he tossed the inner-tube into the water first because when he did, water moccasins immediately covered it. If I have gotten some of the details wrong, well it was a long time ago and I was very young.
When I was a little older, Ronnie took me for a ride on his motorcycle. That was the most thrilling thing that had ever happened to me. I have loved motorcycles since that day. But what I remember most was Ronnie’s laugh and his teasing humor. I never heard him complain or speak an unkind word. Ronnie was my older cousin and I didn’t get to see him very often over the years but I loved him very much. I think God watched over him with extra care when he was a boy because He had a special mission for him to fulfill and many people with whom to share His love. I will miss you Ronnie and I look forward to sitting with you around the dinner table in Heaven eating Sista’s biscuits.

To Lynda and Vikki, I know that your heart hurts right now. There is nothing wrong with that. He was the only father Vikki has had and Lynda you are the only mother she has had. Thankyou and God bless you both for taking care of my baby sister. Our father was not much and her mother Annne isn't very much either. May God keep you and hold you Lynda and praise you for all the fantastic things you do. If you need anything anything at all please call me. Love, Shelle

My uncle Ronnie is a special man. I have so many memories with you all and he truly loved ALL of his family. He spoke so proudly of each and every one. If someone ever needed anything he would do anything he could to help. To me , I feel like he brought out the best in people and worked as a mentor to so many. I have talked to people that worked with him and they said he was the best boss ,funny, easy going and handled his job as a leader. I am so sorry for your loss Aunt Lynda, Rusty, Keith and the entire family. He is in a peaceful world now (Heaven) and you will be together again one day.
I know that does take your pain away and just know that Alan and I love you all so much!!!
Sincerely,
Lisa& Alan Martin

Ronnie you are my only little brother and I never expected for you to be leaving this world first. I know that mama and daddy will so glad to see you in heaven though. I sure am going to miss you so much. I always enjoyed every visit with you and never remember anytime in our adult life’s of any unkind words being spoken to one another which may be a little usual for these days but that’s how we were. We are friends and brothers and I will cherish our memories together forever. I know I will see you again one day in heaven.
Love

Lynda,Keith, Russ, and family, We were heartbroken to hear this news. Our friendship with Ronnie and Lynda started in 1989,when Ronnie and Randall ran against each other for a council seat. Ronnie was a very worthy opponent. He and Lynda campaigned like this town had never seen, going door to door and meeting the voters. Ronnie won that election, but we learned a lot. The importance of the wife being by his side and the personal contact. The 4 of us became great friends and would share many good times together through the years Ronnie had a unique sense of humor and any conversation with him usually ended up with a good laugh. He was a good ole`boy, truly one of the good guys that liked to make everyone happy. We will miss him greatly, but will always remember his laid back easy going nature and humor. We will stay in touch with Lynda and his family. We see some of the grandchildren that may one day follow in their Papas footsteps. They will all remain surrounded and loved in this community. Thank you all for so openly sharing so much during a difficult time. We love you all.
