Obituary of Walter B. Lee

Centerville-Georgia, Walter Bennett Lee went to be with his Lord and Savior on the afternoon of Thursday, June 11, 2020. A private Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 2:00PM in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home with the Reverend Joe Haselden officiating.  Immediately following the services, a private entombment will take place at Magnolia Park Cemetery. The family respectfully asks that donations be made to Heart of Georgia Hospice.

 

Walter was born on June 7, 1932 to the late Bennett Stokes Lee, and Essie Boney Lee. Walter faithfully served his country in the US Navy from March 1953 to March 1957. He continued to serve his country in the civil service field as an electronic technician at Robins Air Force Base. Walter was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of Shirley Hills Baptist Church. He will be remembered as a simple man who loved everybody. Walter loved cheering his Georgia Bulldogs, and Atlanta Braves on to victory. Walters’s most prized possessions were his grandsons.

 

In addition to his parents, Walter is preceded in death by his loving sisters; Christine Bonin, Juanita Lunsford, and Gloria Sell.

 

His memory will forever be cherished by his loving bride of the last 47 years, Christine Lee; Stepchildren; Daryl Yancey (Kathy) of Warner Robins and Zandra Boyle (Bob) of Warner Robins, grandsons, Daniel Yancey (Ashley) of Byron, Jordan Yancey of McDonough, One great-granddaughter, Nieces; Darenda Crowe of Macon, Patricia Eargle (Marvin) of North Carolina, Nephew, Michael Bonin (Mary) of Stone Mountain. He is also survived by a host of extended family.
